I have taken a quick look at google and this appears to be a common error, but I have not had a chance to look at it. Are you suggesting I uninstall the DEB package and install the Application bundle? Are you using HAL or xorg.conf?

There seems to be some inconsistency in the application bundle with the libraries in the linux I'm running. My wife and I were using Keepass under Windows and we both really missed it when we moved to Linux. the wacom tablet works fine with other (non-kde) apps that use xinput, such as the gimp, and also with othe rprograms not using xinput (gnome-terminal, rxvt-unicode, iceweasel etc.).
