Found the following... Had similar problems with automatic settings reverting. I think what happenned is when i changed from the old account name to the new account name it didnt update all the credentials so now it won't update. I did go into msconfig.exe and enable avg to load at startup so thats fixed now.

Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 from the Microsoft Download Center. Then the system rebooted and started the 3 stages of "Configuring updates".
