I notice that the same time I started having this problem is when I stopped receiving the email updates for New Update Alerts, I only get the Update Status Summary. 0 There is a message on the main screen that 5 new products have been added in the last 30 days (of course I can't see what they are). I've checked the event log and have found the following services to be in a state of "not working": DSS Authentication SimpleAuth Web Service Client Web Service API Remoting Web Service The Wsus Administration Console Has Encountered An Unexpected Error. 7053 Event Id 7053 Log Name: Application Source: Windows Server Update Services Date: 6/7/2016 9:18:38 PM Event ID: 7053 Task Category: Had to change it from Network Service to Local System. Very strange. Wsus Console Crashes But, there is a catch to deploying policies. this may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. The server still seems operational apart from this - I have made approvals, can create new Update Views based on other criteria, and will be (hopefully) rolling out some patches tonight
